ImageBird 2024

Introduction

ImageBird 2024 is an advanced Image Browser.

It allows for the browsing and viewing of an array of image formats, by directory, list or library.

It's going to have a variety of tools for working with images including an image editor, icon creator and quite a lot more. It's early days yet but already there is a batch converter and resizing tool. You can organize images into user created categories and turn those into lists, and import into library files.

It's designed to work a lot like an Internet Browser so it should feel comfortable and familiar to use.

Included in the format support are the new AVIF and WEBP file formats.

Updated: Bookmark Manager: Now uses a new function to add bookmarks, based on the full editor instead of a totally different unit.  it should select the current folder, then disable the panel from any editing or changes.  But allow otherwise, the full use of the better bookmark manager.

Updated: Bookmark Add Dialog: Now make sure to return '' values on cancel or nil value on folder selected, which should by the other code not add/edit anything that end.

Updated: Category Add Dialog: If when adding to last categories there is nothing checked, then it will instead show modally, otherwise it acts as it used to.

Added: Settings: Privacy option, that will enable/disable the collection of ANY MRU. Recent, desktops, mru, history etc. (Have changed any frame using inAddTo<XXX> to use a new procedure that obeys this setting, and operates just like the old procedure but obeying the rules.

Added: Category Add Dialog: Added minor managment for categories, Add/Delete categories.

Added: Category Add Dialog: Automatically saves pnlFile Width and current Category page index to the main config file, cat page can be overridden by the loading inifile on the dlg procedures, but files panel is new.

Added: Glyph Maker: This takes a file, any openable type and outputs to any checked size presets using the sub-directory, resizes the best quality it can (Not proportional right now), and out puts the image to a png file, the most common format for png's I would imagine and guess.  Eventually I want it outputting to other file formats, but for now it just does png.  I know this is a tool I will find a lot of use for.

Updated: Glyph Maker: Can now output also to '.bmp' files

Updated: Glyph Maker: Can now output proportionally sized files, may not exactly match the preset though but will fit within.

Added: Glyph Maker: Untested: But should not also be able to output to JPEG, there is little reason why this wouldn't work.

Updated: Procedure : GetCurrentFilename: Now returns more filenames, and is a little more error proof, using public frame functions that check if anything is selected rather than an index on a list that may or may not actually exist.

Added: Fullscreen: Ability to load a list instead of a file and use that as a slide show, has a timer that will allow for a slide show to run.
